Liberal Party (LP) standard bearer Manuel Roxas has instructed his staff to look into the alleged incident at a campaign sortie in Pikit, North Cotabato, which showed the emcee distributing envelopes to the audience supposedly in exchange for their loud cheering.

On Sat, Apr 16, a 58-second video clip showing what appears to be an LP campaign sortie in Pikit, North Cotabato, last Mar 31 made the rounds on social media. The video was posted by someone with the handle, “KutangBato Vlogger.” It has since been uploaded by other YouTube users, with their version running one minte and 31 seconds.
The video shows an emcee at an LP campaign sortie telling those who did not cheer loudly for Roxas that they would not get “envelopes.” Reports could not confirm what was in the said envelopes but the public speculated it contained money.
In a statement posted on his official Facebook page, Roxas said, “I vehemently condemn these actions. This is not part of my platform, program, or actions. To me, this is wrong. I have not seen the video but if it indeed happened, we will find out who the organizers were and we will make them realize my view that this is wrong and must stop.”
