Mar Roxas gets suspended from golf club

It sure seems like the universe is conspiring against him.

“Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas was suspended for two months from Wack Wack Golf and Country Club following supposed outburst earlier this month,” reports Camille Diola on Philstar.com.

In a statement, the golf club’s management said that Roxas’ sanction for “violation of club rules and regulations” is to uphold the Mandaluyong resort’s policies and to “maintain good order at all times for the enjoyment by its members.”

On April 6, Roxas had allegedly berated and cussed employees for requiring his guest to pay the “green fee” of PHP5,100. The said guest didn’t play golf so Roxas said he thought that meant the green fee for the guest would be waived. When the golf club’s employees still kept asking him to pay the green fee, it was then that Roxas supposedly had a “meltdown.”

Roxas has apologized for his outburst, but he downplayed it, saying that he didn’t cuss anyone.
