Well, it worked for him when he was the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary.
“In what came across as a resurrection of ‘Mister Palengke (Mister Market),’ the persona that helped him become the number one senator in the 2004 elections, Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Manuel Roxas II recently went around the public market in Valencia, Bukidnon, conversing with vendors and checking products and prices,” reports Trish Roque on InterAksyon.com.
The report noted: “Roxas, who President Benigno Aquino III has anointed the Liberal Party standard bearer, said he had never let go of ‘Mr. Palengke’ even after he lost the vice presidential race in 2010.”
In the News5 video, Roxas talks about the prices of the farm products sold at the market.
Sounds like Mr. Palengke to us.
