Manny Pangilinan is no longer interested in GMA

With Ramon Ang—the president and CEO of San Miguel Corporation and Philippine Airlines—in talks with GMA chairman Atty. Felipe Gozon over the supposed sale of GMA Network Inc., there’s a business tycoon who’s saying that he’s no longer interested.

“Manny Pangilinan, the chairman of Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co (PLDT), said on Tuesday, May 6, that his group has no plan of reviving talks for an investment in GMA,” reports Darwin G. Amojelar on InterAksyon.com.

Pangilinan was quoted as saying, “We have no plans to make a re-offer with regards to GMA. There are no ongoing discussions with GMA. We have no plans to make an offer.”

When asked why, he quipped, “Well, I guess we are too busy with the other things and TV5 as well as our other media assets. So, we would like to focus on those media assets first.”

This, folks, is what moving on looks like.
