You win some, you lose some.
Filipino senator and boxer Manny Pacquiao’s Los Angeles home was ransacked while he was in Las Vegas for his bout against American Adrien Broner, authorities discovered today.
Burglars apparently robbed Pacquiao’s home while the fighter was defending the World Boxing Association (WBA) welterweight world title against the 29-year-old Broner yesterday, ABS-CBN News reported. The 40-year-old won the fight through a unanimous decision.
Authorities said that there were signs of forced entry, NBC San Diego reported.
Patrolling officers noticed that one of the house’s doors was left open at around 4pm on Sunday, U.S. time (8am, today in the Philippines), GMA News added.
Officers discovered that a room on the second floor, which contained designer items and pieces of jewelry, was ransacked, the report added.
Authorities are still investigating what items were taken.
The police have roped off the area of the crime scene.
This wasn’t the first time Pacquiao’s house attracted thieves. In 2011, four suspects were arrested after authorities discovered a robbery in progress in the same Los Angeles mansion. This happened while Pacquiao was in the Philippines prepping for a fight, ESPN reported.
