Filipino boxing legend Manny Pacquiao said he would shoulder the medical expenses of a local boxer who fell into a coma shortly after winning an eight-round fight in Cavite.
22-year-old Kenneth Egano, who hails from Sarangani, collapsed while waiting for the official results of his match against Jason Facularin, and was immediately rushed to the hospital.
The Egano-Facularin match was part of the Blow-by-Blow program, a televised boxing competition produced by Pacquiao’s production company.
Egano was scheduled to undergo an operation on Sunday.
“There is nothing more precious than human life,” the eight-division boxing champion said.
