Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather, Jr. faced off Thursday during the press conference of their May 2-bout in Los Angeles, California.

“The iconic Filipino boxer said he felt good after looking Mayweather in the eye when they posed for the media,” writes Jojo Malig on ABS-CBNNews.com.

“I feel ready. This is a very important fight, a big fight,” the report quotes Pacquiao as saying.

In an interview with Showtime, Pacquiao admits Mayweather has good defense, but that he wasn’t worried. “I can easily break that defense,” the People’s Champ said.

According to the report, Pacquiao knew as early as November 2014 that the fight was going to happen, and that meeting with Mayweather in Miama helped seal the deal.

Meanwhile, Mayweather has also shown quite the confidence. “May 2nd is all about fight the best. Pacquiao is one of the best fighters in the era,” he said. “Expect us to have a brilliant game plan (and he smart).”

The ABS-CBNNews report notes, “Mayweahter took a shot at Pacquiao, who has 5 losses against 57 wins with 38 knockouts.”

“When you lose, it’s in your mind. If you lost once, it’s in your mind,” said the American, who remains unbeaten.

He denied avoiding this meeting, saying his team has tried to make this fight happen earlier.

According to Top Rank boss Bob Arum, Pacquiao may earn around $120 million (or PHP5.3 billion) while Mayweather will get $180 million or around PHP8 billion.
