Global reinsurer Swiss Re listed Manila as among the riskiest places in the world to business in terms of exposure to natural calamities. Tokyo topped the study entitled “Mind the Risk: A global ranking of cities under threat from natural disasters,” which ranked 616 cities around the world according to its exposure to natural disasters such as earthquakes, typhoons, flooding, and storm surges. China’s Pearl River Delta came in third, while Los Angeles, the highest-ranked metropolitan area outside Asia, was ninth in the list. MM
