“The city of Manila will hold its New Year countdown with a 15-minute fireworks display, showbiz personalities, a talent contest, and a ‘Battle of the Bands,’ among others, at the market district of Divisoria,” reports the Philippine Daily Inquirer.

Dubbed as “Salubong 2014: Countdown ng Masa sa Divisoria,” the event will start at 6pm on Dec 31. The “Divisoria’s Got Talent” tilt will also be held, with prizes ranging from PHP10,000 to PHP200,000.
Raffles, food trucks, photo booths, face painters, mascots, and mimes will also be on the scene. Plus, a night market will be set up.
