Maynilad Water Services Inc has reportedly refused to accept a partial payment for the outstanding PHP 8 million water bill of the Manila Police District (MPD). This has left the police facility without water for about a week now.
In a Philippine Star report, MPD officer-in-charge Senior Superintendent Robert Po said their office had tried to settle PHP2.5 million on Friday, but the payment was allegedly not accepted. Officials of the water service provider however, claimed that no such move was made by the MPD.
The MPD’s arrears date back to 2005 for four accounts. The first one was cut off last year while the two others have been suspended. The last active line was disconnected on May 14.
