Manila police detain 20 minors for breaking curfew

Manila police detained 20 minors Tuesday night for violating the city’s 10:00 p.m. curfew.

According to a DZMM report, police assigned to Manila Police District Station 4 combed four barangays in the Sampaloc district to enforce a city ordinance imposing a curfew from 10:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. Minors found on the streets were brought to MPD Station 4.

The report notes some parents complained because their kids were detained even though they were just hanging out outside their homes.

Senior Police Officer 3 Roger Abellera said the curfew is meant to keep minors away from drugs, drinking, and crime.
