Manila Ocean Park and Manila Water team up to revive polluted rivers

It’s all about water…but not in the way you think.

“Manila Ocean Park has partnered with Manila Water’s Toka-Toka campaign to revive heavily-polluted rivers in the National Capital Region,” reports Manila Standard Today.

According to the report, Toka Toka “aims to educate the general public on used water management, starting with individual acts toward ensuring cleaner and safer rivers in Metro Manila—most notably the Marikina, Pasig and San Juan river systems.”

Manila Ocean Park Executive Vice President for Attractions Francis Low said that the park and Manila Water will “synchronize programs on rehabilitating esteros and waterways, particularly through information and education campaigns for exhibition at the park’s Oceanarium.”

In case you didn’t know, Manila Water is the East Zone concessionaire of the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System that serves more than 6 million residents in parts of Quezon City and Manila, Marikina, Pasig, San Juan, Mandaluyong, Pateros, Makati, and Taguig, as well as towns in Rizal Province.
