It’s one of the craziest scams we’ve read about so far.
“A 45-year-old sex worker landed in jail after allegedly swallowing her Swedish client’s wedding ring in a motel in Manila on Wednesday, March 18,” reports Aie Balagtas See in The Philippine Star.
The Swedish national, Johansson Stig Ingermar, filed a theft complaint against the woman with the Manila Police District (MPD).
The report noted: “Ingermar said he left his wedding ring on the table and went to the bathroom. When he came out, the ring was missing.”
According to Ingemar, the woman threatened to stab him when he asked her for the ring. That was when he learned that the woman had swallowed the ring. She then asked him for PHP5,000 in exchange for the ring.
Considering how the swallowed wedding ring will be retrieved (if you know what we mean), Ingemar is better off buying a replacement.
