Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim wants to make sure university students in his city are saved from the fires of hell of…premarital sex. He wants all dorms in the city to follow a “no mixing” policy and keep male and female dormers separated.
A Philippine Star report quotes city administrator Jay Marzan as saying the policy has been in place for a long time to discourage dormers from getting into relationships with each other. He said many parents of university students borrow money, “sell off their carabao and sell of their land” to send their children to school.
“And if you put them in dormitories where there are females and males, there’s the possibility for courtship and they may end up not finishing school,” he said in Filipino.
Marzan said dormitories and boarding houses that allow “mixing” can be reported to City Hall.
