Manila Hotel hosts over 1,200 PH mayors

It’s Mayor Madness Monday! (We’re using the word, “madness,” positively here.)

“On Monday, Mar 17, more than 1,200 municipal mayors from all across the country will gather today at the Manila Hotel for the 2014 General Assembly of the League of Municipal Mayors of the Philippines (LMP),” reports Czarina Ong on Manila Bulletin Online.

According to LMP National President Mayor Leonardo “Sandy” Javier, Jr. of Javier, Leyte, the goal of the municipal mayors is “to work on an all-inclusive growth to build a developed country with reduced poverty.” They will discuss the recently-launched budget strategy, known as Grassroots Participatory Budgeting Process.

The Grassroots Participatory Budgeting Process is referred to as “a tool in the identification and implementation of priority projects to stimulate business and boost infrastructure development.”
