Manila hosts Shell Eco-marathon Asia 2016

In last year’s Shell Eco-marathon Asia, Team Virgin from Thailand drove 1,572 km on a liter of ethanol. Wonder how far this year’s participants will go?

The Philippines will once again host the Shell Eco-marathon Asia at a specially designed street circuit in Roxas Boulevard on Mar 3 to 6. Over 100 student teams will participate in the event.

The teams will will be judged by the mileage achieved on a liter of fuel. The winners of the competition will be awarded USD2,000.

The opening ceremony will be held on 4 March at the Rizal Park, while the closing ceremony and awards presentation will be held on 6 March at Manila Hotel.

Here’s a little heads up from Manila Bulletin. According to Manila traffic officials, the Southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard from Katigbak drive to TM Kalaw street will be closed to traffic from March 1 to 7 because of the event.
