For the record, the bill isn’t just for a month’s consumption.
“In a Nov 13 demand letter to Mayor Joseph Estrada, Maynilad Water Services Inc. reminded the Manila City government that its water supply may be cut off unless it pays its PHP57.7-million water bill by Nov 25,” reports Jose Rodel Clapano in The Philippine Star.
Maynilad assistant vice president Annette de Ocampo noted that the city government and its various other attached offices consumed worth PHP33.6 million of water from July to October this year. Meanwhile, the amount left unpaid by previous administrations is at PHP24.1 million.
Estrada is asking Maynilad to give his administration time to raise the money.
