Perhaps, the problem isn’t always with churchgoers.
This is one of the things that Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle should think of when he laments the decreasing number of young people who participate in church activities. Tagle made his sentiments known in an article published on the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) website.
“Tagle said that if before he was easily distracted by children who cry or run around during masses, his perspectives changed when he was able to visit parishes holding masses attended by just a few elderly people,” reports Leslie Ann Aquino in the Manila Bulletin.
Tagle had explained that “the next generation” is needed to ensure “the transmission of faith.”
