The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) said four baggage loaders working in Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) owned up to stealing jewelry from Turkish foreign minister Mevlut Cavusoglu’s wife Hulya Cavusoglu, The Philippine Star reported today.

Ten pieces of jewelry were stolen from Hulya, during the couple’s return trip home from Manila’s NAIA Terminal 1, Friday.

This included three sets of pearl earrings, a gold bracelet with diamonds, and three rings — one with diamonds and another with pearls.

Upon returning home, Hulya found out that the jewelry box containing these items was missing from her luggage. According to the same report, the MIAA found the jewelry box in one of the baggage loaders’ locker.

Mevlut and Hulya were both in Manila to attend the Association of Southeast Asian Nations Ministerial Meeting in Manila last week.
