Forget banana peels, apparently, mango juice works just as well in making people slip and fall on their faces.

That’s what a driver found out on Sunday afternoon when mango juice spilled from a tanker truck he was driving, injuring 14 people.

According to ABS-CBN News, 14 people — including motorcycle drivers, motorcycle passengers, and pedestrians — sustained light injuries because of the incident.

Cebu Daily News reported that the 10-wheeler truck was traveling along the national highway in Barangay (Village) Canduman, Mandaue City at around 6pm when the juice spilled.

The truck’s driver told ABS-CBN News that he did not notice at first that the valve of the tank containing the juice was open.

He only found out when a traffic enforcer stopped him after six motorcycles behind him had slipped because of the mango juice leak.

The driver defended himself and said that the valve was closed when he started to drive; he theorized that someone must have opened it while the vehicle was on the road.

But this does not save him from facing consequences.

According to ABS-CBN News, the driver will face charges of reckless imprudence resulting in damage to property with multiple slight physical injuries.

The company that owns the tanker truck said that they would cover medical expenses for those who were injured.
