Mandaluyong installs more CCTV cams in bid to curb crime

CCTV cameras are great, but we really need more honest and brave cops to watch over us.

“The city government of Mandaluyong installed more CCTV (closed-circuit television) cameras in the city hall and other major thoroughfares to further enhance security in the city,” reports Madelynne Dominguez in the Manila Bulletin.

The report quoted Jimmy Isidro, Chief Public Information Officer, who revealed that the city now has six additional surveillance cameras which will hopefully deter crimes like robbery.

Meanwhile, CCTVs will also be placed along major thoroughfares to help manage traffic, as well as record any road accidents.

The fact that criminals haven’t resorted to stealing CCTV cameras gives us hope.
