Man who surrendered in Oplan Tokhang and 5-year-old son shot dead by unknown men

At around 4:45am last Sun, Dec 12, Domingo Manosca, 44, and his five-year-old son Francisco were shot dead by unidentified assailants at their house along Mahogany Street in Pasay City.

“Witnesses said Manosca and the boy were sleeping when the assailants knocked on their door. When Manosca stood up and peeped through a hole in the wall, the gunmen opened fire, hitting him and Francisco, who was standing behind him,” reports Robertzon Ramirez in The Philippine Star.

The report noted: “Manosca died on the spot from five gunshots to the body. Francisco died while being treated at the Pasay City General Hospital.”

When Manosca’s wife, Elizabeth, was asked if she would seek justice for the death of her husband and son, she replied in Filipino, “I’’s useless, it would not bring back my son’s life.”

Elizabeth only said that she wished extrajudicial killings would stop, as they also took the lives of innocent victims like her son.

Southern Police District director Chief Superintendent Tomas Apolinario explained that while Manosca was known as a drug pusher in the area, he had already surrendered to the authorities under Oplan Tokhang last month.

As such, Apolinario has ordered an investigation into the double murder case. The first thing cops will do is review footage from the closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras in the area for the possible identification of the killers.
