Man who shot 16-year-old bully surrenders to police

He could have gone on hiding forever—but, unlike corrupt politicians, Jeremy John Reyes, 20, has a conscience.

Reyes, who is now under the custody of the Manila Police District, said he surfaced to pay for consequences of killing Christian Texon on Nov 2.

Reyes explained that although he shot Texon, he really wasn’t involved in the first place. According to Philstar.com, he said his friend, whom he identified as Doods Cuartero, had given him the gun, Cuartero wanted him to fire at Texon. This was because Cuartero’s 16-year-old girlfriend was allegedly being bullied by Texon.

In the confusion, Reyes ended up shooting Tecson somewhere in New Antipolo street in Tondo, Manila. Reyes said Cuartero had shoved him so, perhaps, the gun accidentally went off.

Texon was rushed to the Chinese General Hospital, where he died 29 hours after he was brought in.
