Perhaps, he just loved his dog so much that he didn’t think twice about commiting a crime for it.
“At around 7:30pm on on Saturday, April 26, Pasil, Kalinga Mayor James Edduba, 49, was in his car with his his driver on Saturday when they accidentally hit a dog in Sitio Pinagan, Barangay Lucog in Tabuk City,’ reports Aaron B. Recuenco in Tempo.
The police said that Edduba reportedly ordered his driver to stop to check on the dog. In fact, he allegedly got out of the car himself to take a look at the animal. That was when he got shot.
The report noted that “the shooter turned out to be the owner of the dog based on the initial result of the investigation.” The man had fired a .45 pistol and immediately fled after the incident.
Edduba’s driver rushed him to the Tabuk Provincial Hospital. He was later transferred to St. Paul Hospital in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan. The mayor is now in recoving from the gunshot wound.
Though the gunman’s name has not been released to the public, police are now hunting him down.
