Believe it or not, some fighting cocks cost a fortune.
That was probably why a still-unidentified man was shot dead after allegedly stealing a gamecock in Binondo, Manila at around 4:30am on Thursday, June 12.
“The unidentified man could be between 38 and 42 years old, about 5’6″ to 5’8″ tall, of medium build, and clad only in khaki shorts,” reports Aie Balagtas See in The Philippine Star.
Apparently, as the report revealed, “several bystanders along Masangkay Street discovered that the man stole a fighting cock on nearby Alvarado Street.”
The report went on to note: “The bystanders chased the man until he climbed up to the fourth floor of a condominium. Barangay kagawad Rico Echalas asked the man to leave the condominium and surrender.”
However, those who had chased the man suddenly heard two gunshots. They then saw the man falling into the creek.
The man’s killer has yet to be identified.
