Roommates should have respect for each other’s preferences. Otherwise, well, somebody’s going to get hurt.
In the early hours of Wed, Mar 16, Rocky Tamayo, 21, and his Past City boarding house roommate Reynaldo Martin, 39, got into a heated argument over the light in their room. Tamayo had asked Martin to turn it off because he couldn’t sleep with it on.
Senior Supt. Joel Doria, Pasy City Police chief, revealed that Tamayo left the room when Martin insisted on keeping the light on. “However, Tamayo was already carrying a knife when he came back to the room moments later. He proceeded to stab Martin,” report Martin A. Sadongdong and Jean Fernando in Tempo.
Martin was rushed to the hospital, while Tamayo was promptly arrested. Tamayo is now facing murder charges.
