A misunderstanding can be deadly.
“Roger Arceo, 29, died from multiple stab wounds after his friend, Roger Teodosio Jr., stabbed him with a screwdriver at around 6:30pm on Saturday, March 28 in Sta. Cruz, Manila,” reports Rey Galupo in The Philippine Star.
The report noted: “Investigation conducted by Senior Police Officer 3 Milbert Balinggan showed that Teodosio pawned his mobile phone for PHP100 to Arceo, with a promise to give him an additional PHP20 in interest.”
According to Teodisio, when he was trying to get back his mobile phone, Arceo got mad. To appease his friend, Teodosio offered Arceo a cap owned by another person as a gift.
Teodisio revealed in Filipino: “I told him that if the owner will not get the cap then he could have it. But its owner asked for it so I told him I was taking it back.”
An argument ensued between Teodosio and Arceo, which escalated into a fistfight. People intervened and stopped the fight. However, Arceo threatened to kill Teodisio. Fearing Arceo’s attack, Teodosio got a screwdriver and attacked the former.
Teodisio is now detained at the Manila Police District.
