He probably didn’t know what hit him.
“Ronald Bautista, 41, was shot dead at around 1 a.m. on Tuesday, August 12, in a computer shop on Asuncion Street, Tondo,” reports Annelle Tayao-Juego in Philippine Daily Inquirer.
Bautista had been playing an online game when a still-unidentified gunman came in and shot him in the back four times.
According to Manila Police District (MPD) homicide investigator PO2 Michael Maraggun, “the other customers in the shop did not recognize the gunman, who was described as between 35 and 40 years old, 5’8” tall, of slim build, and clad in a dark-colored jacket.”
The report further noted: “Initial police investigation revealed that Bautista was detained on robbery and holdup charges at the Manila City Jail until his release in 2010. He was a member of the Sputnik Gang.”
