Are bar fights going hardcore?
“A 20-year-old student named Kenneth Enriquez was wounded in a shooting incident witnessed by a policeman last Sunday, September 14, at about 4:40am at Guilly’s Bar on Tomas Morato corner Eugenio Lopez Drive, Barangay South Triangle in Quezon City,” reports Francis Wakefield in Tempo.
Four people were taken into custody by the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Station 10 in Kamuning:
1. Christian Villanueva, 25, single, jobless, of Sta. Cruz, Manila
2. Jayden Martinez, 34, single, a call center agent, of Makati City
3. Charles Martin Constantino, 24, single, jobless, of Cavite City
4. Jeffrey Bantayan, 32, single, jobless, of Burgos, Pasay City
The report noted: “Enriquez and his friends were inside Guilly’s Bar when they noticed that the suspects were staring at them. When the victim and his friends were about to leave the bar, they noticed that the suspects were waiting for them outside. As they boarded their blue Toyota Avanza (NJH-602), the suspects allegedly hurled bottles of beer and stones that hit their car’s windshield and passenger’s window.”
Enriquez and another man got out of their vehicle to confront the suspects, but one of them allegedly pulled out a gun and started shooting at them. The right side of their vehicle and Enriquez got hit.
Enriquez was rushed to the Capitol Medical Center (CMC) on Quezon Avenue.
Meanwhile, the suspects fled on board a white Kia Carens (without a license plate), not knowing that a policeman, PO2 Anthony Gil, who allegedly witnessed the incident at the bar, followed them. They were later arrested.
The report revealed: “Police reportedly recovered from the suspects a caliber .380 pistol with magazine, one sealed plastic sachet with suspected dried marijuana leaves and glass tube and one black plastic container containing pieces of rolling paper, they allegedly found at the drivers seat of the Kia Carens.”
