This should be a conversation piece for parents all over the country. And, hey, whatever happened to Old School punishments like non-lethal spanking and being grounded?
“A 15-year-old girl, who lives somewhere in the Negros Island, sustained second-degree burns after she was set on fire by her own father,” reports Theresa Clarito on ABS-CBNnews.com.
The report said that the girl’s father “poured gas and set her on fire because the latter refused to watch over her siblings.”
The father immediately regretted what he did and put out the flames. He then rushed her to the nearest hospital.
The girl has been declared “out of danger” by health officials.
However, the Philippine National Police (PNP) Women and Children’s Protection Desk vowed to assist the victim if she decides to file a case against her father.
But, as it turns out, the girl has forgiven her father for what he did.
The report noted: “She said that while she is mad with what her dad did to her, she does not want him to go to prison.”
