Man reviewing for bar exams dies in apartment

Death is so random. That’s why, when you think about it, it’s scary.

“Edmar Dilig—a 31-year-old law graduate from the University of Cagayan Valley—was found dead inside his room at an apartment on Loyola Street in Sampaloc, Manila on Thursday, May 8,” reports Maricar B. Brizuela in Philippine Daily Inquirer.

Dilig was set to attend review classes at the University of Santo Tomas for this year’s bar exams.

According to Remedios Cruz, the owner of the apartment, she decided to check on Dilig after she smelled a foul odor coming from his room. She said she had last seen him alive on at around noon on Wednesday.

Police theorize that Dilig may have died from heat stroke. Moreover, as the report said, “investigators were also trying to determine if Dilig suffered from a deadly skin disease as there were visible scars and wounds on his upper body.” Police said there was no indication of foul play upon their initial investigation.
