A criminal’s idiocy is most welcome.
“A man named Edmundo Navarro was arrested Wednesday, April 23, for trying to sell a gun he stole from the house of a policeman in Valenzuela City as the latter slept,” reports Rey Galupo in The Philippine Star.
Navarro’s stupidity didn’t stop there.
The report noted: “According to city police chief Senior Superintendent Rhoderick Armamento, Navarro was caught when he tried to sell the gun within the area where his victim, Police Officer 1 Alinader Casim.”
For his part, Casim had reported the burglary last Apr 16 but, naturally, he could not identify who had stolen his gun, money, and jewelry.
As the report indicated, “a break in the case came after the police received information that Navarro was selling a gun matching the description of Casim’s government-issued firearm in Barangay Karuhatan.”
Navarro later admitted to breaking into a house and taking the valuables, including the gun.
Here’s the clincher: “Navarro reasoned that he did not know a policeman lived in the house but he took the gun since he had broken in.”
