This tragic story could very well be the plot of one of those twisted movies.
“On Good Friday, April 18, 19-year-old Romnick Joseph Alon stabbed to death his second-degree cousin 18-year-old Junesca Rusco after she told him that she was pregnant with his child,” reports Aie Balagtas See in The Philippine Star.
Alon had seen Rusco that afternoon walking in their neighborhood in Parola Compound in Tondo, Manila. Rusco had been with their other cousins, Ronelyn Pecargo and Rosalyn Alon.
Alon then asked if he could speak to Rusco in private, to which their cousins agreed. The cousins went on with their walk and left the two alone.
When they were alone, Rusco told Alon that she was pregnant. The report said that “this enraged Alon as he could not understand how Rusco could get pregnant when they only had sex two weeks ago.”
Alon then became more agitated when Rusco pointed out that her father would kill him if he found out. That was when Alon, who had been concealing a knife, slit Rusco’s throat.
Their cousins were later surprised when they saw him walking away from the playground all by himself. When they searched for Rusco, they found her dead. The cousins then sought the help of barangay officials.
Alon was eventually arrested that same day.
