Man killed by stray bullet in Pasay

He was just in the wrong place at the wrong time…but that doesn’t mean whoever did it shouldn’t be punished.

“On Tuesday, August 12, a 60-year-old man named Victim Jimmy Fiel died after he was hit in the chest by a stray bullet that was meant for a 17-year-old boy named Norwel Ortega, a.k.a. Pango, of Tramo St., Pasy City,” reports Mitch Arceo in Tempo.

The report noted: “Initial investigation showed that the shooting incident happened at 3:14am on Tramo Street. The suspect, a 22-year-old man named Jeric de Asis was on board a motorcycle when he started firing at the direction of Ortega.”

However, Ortega managed to run before he could get shot.

Fiel, who was then riding a bicycle on his way to Pasay Public Market, was the one who got hit. He was rushed to the Pasay City General Hospital, where he eventually died that same morning.

De Asis was arrested by police in a follow-up operation.
