“A 34-year-old man identified as Jaime Cardona was recently killed in a hit-and-run incident inside the posh Ayala Alabang Village in Muntinlupa City,” reports Jonathan Hicap in Tempo.
Senior Supt. Allan Nobleza, Muntinlupa police chief, identified the victim as of Tensuan Site, Poblacion, Muntinlupa.
According to the police, Cardona was biking along the bike lane on Madrigal Avenue in the village at around 530am when a Honda City car hit him, causing his immediate death.
Witnesses say the car’s driver immediately fled.
The report revealed that the Muntinlupa City Police’s traffic investigation unit later identified the suspect as Jose Jaime Claparols. They recovered the car, with plate number PXO-283, on Mangosteen Street, Ayala Alabang Village.
Claparols’ sibling officially surrendered the car and its documents to the police. According to the sibling, Claparols fell asleep while driving.
