Student falls to his death, lands on LRT bldg

Accidents happen — sometimes out of nowhere.

On Friday afternoon, Oct 25, a 19-year-old student identified as Leonard Torres fell from the 29th floor of Castle Condominium in Vito Cruz, Manila.

“According to Senior Police Officer 1 Ronaldo Gallo, Torres, a resident of the condominium, was reportedly with his classmates when he fell just before 2 pm,” reports The Philippine Star.

The report revealed that Torres landed on the roof of a small building housing one of the Light Rail Transit (LRT) power transformers. LRT Authority corporate secretary Hernando Cabrera said LRT operations weren’t disrupted since “the roof shielded the transformer.”

Police are still investigating whether Torres’ death was accidental or caused by foul play.
