With our overcrowded jails, perhaps one of these days they can come up with alternative punishment for the so-called petty crimes.
“Gilbert Donales, 35, a resident of Barangay Pinyahan, was caught on Friday afternoon, March 21, allegedly stealing a PHP10 key chain from an electronic gadgets store at UP-Ayala Land TechnoHub on Commonwealth Avenue, Quzon City” reports Jeannette I. Andrade in the Philippine Daily Inquirer.
According to a report from the Quezon City Police District’s Anonas station, Donales was nabbed because sales clerk Mary Jane Virgo caught him in the act of pocketing the key chain. Virgo then called a security guard so that Donales wouldn’t be able to get away.
