He needed to get his fix. Bad. Really bad.
“On Friday evening, Jan 17, A man, who was identified as Raymond Diong, became unruly after he ordered bulalo from a bakery on Pedro Gil Street, Manila, and was told that the establishment didn’t have any,” reports Katrina Son on GMA News TV’s QRT.
Diong badgered the bakery’s saleslady, who had offered him cup noodles, until one of the male helpers had to step in to prevent him from harming her. This set off Diong and he started throwing punches.
Soon enough, other bystanders got involved in the altercation. When the barangay watchmen were called, Diong was still hostile. However, he stopped to give a “lecture” on why he wanted bulalo. He said, “Pare, ang bulalo may buto-buto sinusutsut ang bulalo, pare. Bigyan n’ya ako ng cup noodles to tingnan natin paano sutsutin ‘yan (Bulalo has bones and you suck out the marrow. I was given cup noodles. Show me how I can suck that out).”
Pardon the translation, there’s nothing quite like hearing what he said for yourself.
The bonus punchline? Remember the saleslady? Her name, as it turned out, is Ira Hinagpis.
