Man electrocuted while trying to connect ‘jumper’ in QC

Sometimes karma can be electric.

The body of a 40-year-old man — who attempted to tap into a power line — was still hanging from the power cables when authorities arrived at the corner of Biak Na Bato and Dagot Street in Barangay Manresa, Quezon City, on Thu morning, Feb 11.

A crane and a hydraulic cutter were brought to the scene to retrieve the man’s body.

“Initial investigation disclosed that the man (who was identified by residents in the area) had just came from a drinking session and climbed a post to connect a ‘jumper’ to the power line without protective gear. He was barefoot and was only wearing denim pants. He didn’t have gloves on,” reports ABS-CBN News.

The report noted: “Authorities believe that the man accidentally touched a high voltage main line that caused his death.”
