A man died after getting hit by a Philippine National Railways (PNR) train this morning in Pandacan, Manila.
Insp. Genesis Aliling, the chief of the Beata Police Station, said that the incident happened at 6:20am, Radyo Inquirer reported.
Based on the identification cards that were retrieved from his bag, the victim was Remy Orlino, a construction worker for real estate developer DMCI, Radio station RMN wrote. He was around 50 years old.
The same report states that according to Aliling, the victim was on his way to work at a construction site nearby.
Residents who witnessed the incident said that Orlino was “tulala” or zoned out while he was crossing the train tracks. The incoming train also honked its horn to warn the victim, Radyo Inquirer reported.
His body was crushed because of the accident.
The train that hit Orlino was the first trip from Alabang in Muntinlupa heading to Divisoria in Manila today.
The PNR is already trying to get in touch with the victim’s family, Remate stated.
