This is another story that should serve as a reminder for motorcycle riders to be extra careful.
“Oliver de Jesus, 34, died after he was crushed by a dump truck in Pasig City on Thursday, June 12,” reports Rizal S. Obanil in Tempo.
De Jesus was declared dead-on-arrival at the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) in Manila.
The report noted: “Investigation showed that the incident happened at 11:55am on Mercedes Avenue in front of Yamaha Motors. De Jesus was driving his Honda motorcycle with his live-in-partner Lea Josephine Marie Chua as backrider while the dump truck with license plates TTZ-311 driven by Manuel Guban, 35, was travelling on Mercedes Ave.”
De Jesus had reportedly tried to overtake the dump truck on its side but he lost his balance. So, he and Chua crashed into the road. De Jesus ended up getting run over by the truck, while Chua was slightly injured.
