He wanted to scare another man by claiming he was a member of the New People’s Army (NPA).
“A man named Alejandro Guevara, 52 died after his drinking buddy stabbed him multiple times in Atimonan, Quezon earlier this week,” reports Johnny Glorioso on ABS-CBNnews.com.
Guevara had been drinking with suspect Celso Playa early in the afternoon.
At some point, Guevara allegedly asked Playa if his son could court Playa’s daughter.
The report noted: “Playa said no, saying his daughter was too young to be in a relationship. This enraged Guevara. He told Playa he was a member of the NPA and threatened to abduct Playa.”
Rattled, Playa then took a bolo and stabbed Guevara in different parts of his body.
The report then revealed that “Playa voluntarily surrendered himself to the barangay officials, who then turned him over to authorities.”
