Police in Pasay arrested a man for selling a stolen car on an online buy and sell website after the owner himself saw it on the site.
According to police, Jose Azucena was arrested in a sting operation after Arnel Alviar, a musician from Cainta, Rizal, found his 1994 Mazda 323 being sold on classified ads website Sulit.com.ph. Alviar got in touch with Pasay police and then pretended to buy his own car.
Alviar said the car was stolen by two of his friends, John Erick Bulan and Allen Reynold Enriquez, when the three of them checked into a hotel in Pasay in late June. The two promised to return the car but never did.
Alviar eventually filed auto theft charges against the two before finding his car being sold online, Pilipino Star Ngayon reports.
