Man arrested in Manila for alleged possession of 1 kilo of marijuana

A 22-year-old computer technician was arrested in Tondo, Manila for the alleged possession of a kilo of marijuana last night.

The suspect, whose real name was withheld, was caught after an undercover cop tried to buy two sachets of pot from him for PHP200 (US$4.20).

Upon arrest, cops allegedly discovered that the suspect had a bunch of marijuana leaves wrapped in plastic and tape, which weighed about 800 grams to 1 kilo. The stash was estimated to be worth around PHP125,000 (US$2,601).

The suspect has been charged with drug selling and possession and is detained at the Manila Police District Station 7 on Jose Abad Santos Street.
