Arrested by the police today was a man who allegedly killed a woman he was courting and put her body in a rice sack that was then placed inside a food establishment’s storage room in Muntinlupa City.
The suspect was identified as 23-year-old Alexander Dimaunahan who was arrested in San Pablo, Laguna province, ABS-CBN News reported. The victim was identified as 22-year-old Sheva Adare Mae Prementil.
A friend of the victim suspected that Dimaunahan may have been behind the crime because he was reportedly seen with scratches on his neck. He also disappeared after Prementil’s body was found, Radyo Inquirer reported.
The suspect’s father even helped the police track his son down.
On Saturday, Prementil, an assistant supervisor of Llanas Supermarket in Alabang, Muntinlupa City, was found dead in the storage room of Buko Island at Purok 2, Barangay (Village) Cupang in Muntinlupa City, Manila Bulletin reported. The victim had wounds on her stomach, head, and hand.
Her body was put inside a bloodied rice sack and her shirt was reportedly rolled up, exposing her chest, The Philippine Daily Inquirer reported.
According to the police, Dimaunahan reportedly admitted to the crime. He said he lost control when he found out that Prementil was already in a relationship. He was also drunk when he committed the crime, ABS-CBN News reported.
According to police, the suspect gave the victim’s body a bath before placing it inside the rice sack.
Authorities are waiting on the results of an autopsy to find out if the victim was sexually assaulted but Dimaunahan has denied this.
Police records show that Dimaunahan was arrested in 2016 during a drug buy-bust operation conducted by cops and in 2018 for frustrated murder, Radyo Inquirer reported.
He will face murder charges.
