Guns are no joke.
“At around 10:30pm on Thursday, Mar 27, Noel Maniulit, a 40-year-old office worker, was cleaning his .45-cal. pistol around at his home on Kitanlad Street in Barangay Tatalon, Quezon City,” reports Julie M. Aurelio in Philippine Daily Inquirer.
According to Maniulit’s wife, Marilen, “he repeatedly pointed the gun to his temple and pulled the trigger just for kicks.”
Marilen said she warned her husband against playing with the gun, but he simply ignored her. He kept pointing the gun at his temple and pulling the trigger. Then, the gun—which turned out to be still loaded—suddenly went off.
Maniulit was brought by Marilen and his brother Emmanuel to St. Luke’s Medical Center. He was soon pronounced dead.
Police are investigating the case in order to rule out foul play.
