You gotta hand it to these security guards.
“Sonia Tan and her family had the surprise of their lives when SM Center Valenzuela Customer Relations Service personnel knocked at their door to return her bag, which contained cash amounting to PHP32,970 and other valuables,” reports Freddie C. Velez in the Manila Bulletin.
Tan said they were not expecting for the bag to be returned. She revealed she had most probably dropped it after they did some shopping.
Indeed, according to the report, security guard Alexander Cañares of Panther Security Agency, saw the handbag at the car park sometime over the weekend. He then turned it over to the Customer Relations Services Department of the mall, whose personnel then used the information from the IDs in the bag to look for Tan.
Cañares isn’t the only SM Center Valenzuela security guard who turned over stuff left behind by mall patrons.
Also over the weekend, Romeo Robles of Vican Security Services Corporation recovered an iPhone at the mall’s Cinema 3. The iPhone, worth PHP35,000, was immediately returned to its owner, Angcao Celestino.
