The Malaysian Association of Tour & Travel Agents (MATTA) has named Boracay as their “Favorite Beach Destination for 2015.”
“MATTA said it gave the latest accolade to the world-known beach in Aklan for its rich natural resources, biodiversity, and white sand beaches,” reports Samuel Medenilla in Manila BUlletin.
According to Philippine Ambassador to Malaysia Jose Malaya, he is now “coordinating with the Department of Tourism (DOT) to promote other local tourist destinations in Malaysia through the second ‘Ambassador’s Tour to the Philippines’ on May 2 to 5 in the Visayas region.”
Malaya was quoted as saying, “Cebu and Bohol are increasingly becoming major Philippine tourist destinations. It is an opportunity for our Malaysian friends to see other parts of the country.”
