Malaysian tourist falls prey to Mabini pickpockets

It’s more fun in the Philippines—but you also have to be more careful, too.

“Alvin Wang, a Malaysian lost PHP5,000 to four pickpockets as he was riding a passenger jeepney in Mabini, Manila at around 11am on Sunday, Mar 16,” reports Aie Balagtas See in The Philippine Star.

Wang revealed to investigators at the Manila Police District’s General Assignment Section: “One of the men told me I have bloodstains on my shirt, so I checked it.”

The four men pretended to help him check the stain. Little did he know that one of them had managed to reach inside his bag.

Aside from money, Wang also lost his passport and mobile phone.
