A notorious thief named Erick Santos was finally arrested on Adriatico Street in Malate, Manila on Tue night, Aug 25.
According to the police, Santos targeted people working at casinos and bars. Apparently, Santos would get into the said establishments and pretend to be a Japanese tourist. He would introduce himself as “Cyrus Nakatamura.” He would then engage in small talk with his targets.
Once the victims let down their guard, he would furtively take their cash and valuables.
Santos was positively identified by several of his past victims. He is now facing swindling and estafa charges.
Santos was arrested for similar offenses before. However, he always managed to post bail.
Santos confessed to his crimes, even boasting, “Nakukuha ko po ang loob nila sa loob ng dalawang minuto (I make them let down their guard within two minutes).” (from an Umagang Kay Ganda report)
